Thrive and Rooted is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to cultivating a healthier, more sustainable future. We believe that everyone should have access to the knowledge and tools that promote a thriving, plant-based lifestyle.
Our mission is making healthy living second nature. We strive to empower people to embrace their wellness through gardening, cooking, plant-based eating, sustainable living, and connecting with animals at our sanctuary. We aim to foster informed, nutritious choices by helping individuals develop skills, build confidence, and cultivate compassion for a healthier, more sustainable way of life. By offering education on sustainable farming practices, including hydroponics, contained farming, and mushroom cultivation, we aim to foster a deep connection to food production and the environment.
Our journey began when my husband, John, and I made the decision to embrace a plant-based lifestyle in 2019 in search of better health and wellness. This shift sparked a passion for sustainable living, and our small-scale gardening efforts quickly expanded as we realized the power of growing our own food. What started in our backyard grew into a larger mission—creating opportunities for the community to connect with their food sources, learn sustainable farming practices, and live healthier, more empowered lives.
Through our workshops, community gardens, cooking classes, sanctuary, and future plans for a holistic health center, we aim to provide the resources and support necessary to cultivate a thriving, health-conscious community. At Thrive and Rooted, we’re not just planting seeds in the ground—we’re planting the seeds for a brighter, healthier, and more compassionate tomorrow.
