Who we are
Thrive and Rooted is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to cultivating a healthier, more sustainable future. We believe that everyone should have access to the knowledge and tools that promote a thriving, plant-based lifestyle.
At Thrive and Rooted, our mission is to make healthy living second nature by growing health from the ground up. We empower communities through plant-based nutrition education, sustainable gardening, and animal rescue that teaches compassion.
Through hands-on learning in gardening, cooking, and sustainable living, we help individuals build confidence, gain practical skills, and cultivate deeper connections with their food, their health, and the planet. From hydroponics and mushroom cultivation to mindful eating and animal sanctuary experiences, we foster a deeper understanding of food systems and a more sustainable, compassionate way of life.
Because what you eat shapes your health and your humanity. Thriving starts with what’s rooted.
Our journey began when my husband, John, and I made the decision to embrace a plant-based lifestyle in 2019 in search of better health and wellness. This shift sparked a passion for sustainable living, and our small-scale gardening efforts quickly expanded as we realized the power of growing our own food. What started in our backyard grew into a larger mission—creating opportunities for the community to connect with their food sources, learn sustainable farming practices, and live healthier, more empowered lives.
Through our workshops, community gardens, cooking classes, sanctuary, and future plans for a holistic health center, we aim to provide the resources and support necessary to cultivate a thriving, health-conscious community. At Thrive and Rooted, we’re not just planting seeds in the ground—we’re planting the seeds for a brighter, healthier, and more compassionate tomorrow.
